U.S. Senator for Delaware
In his thirteen years as a United States Senator, Chris Coons has worked hard to find bipartisan solutions to the issues confronting Delaware, the nation, and the world. As a member of the Foreign Relations, Judiciary, Appropriations, and Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committees, and as Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics, Senator Coons is uniquely positioned to nurture American innovation and make the United States more competitive in the global market. Senator Coons is the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs (SFOPS), where he focuses on strengthening U.S. alliances, supporting displaced and vulnerable people, and bolstering public health infrastructure around the world. He is also the co-chair of the Senate Human Rights Caucus. In these roles, Senator Coons is working for the interests of Delaware and the United States abroad while shaping a more stable and secure world. This includes advocating for peace and stability in regions plagued by conflict, supporting American partners and allies, and championing democracy. Senator Coons lives in Wilmington, Delaware with his wife, Annie, and their three children, Michael, Jack, and Margaret.
