Jane Harman is a former nine-term congresswoman from California and was ranking member of the Intelligence Committee after 9/11. After leaving Congress, she became the first woman President and CEO of the Wilson Center and has served on numerous government advisory boards. She currently is the Chair of Freedom House, of the Commission on the National Defense Strategy, and is on the boards of NASA and DHS. She is a Trustee of the Aspen Institute, a Hauser Leader at the Kennedy School and a Presidential Scholar at USC. She is the author of “Insanity Defense: Why Our Failure to Confront Hard National Security Problems Makes Us Less Safe”.
