Foreign Affairs Officer, U.S. Department of State
Abby Horgan serves as a Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. She previously worked at the Department on anti-corruption and democratic governance issues across Sub-Saharan Africa and completed a detail assignment in the White House Office of Management and Budget’s International Affairs Division as a Presidential Management Fellow. Prior to graduate school, Abby worked in the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs on educational programming for leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in international studies from Boston College and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. Originally from Massachusetts, Abby lives in the DC area with her husband and their retired explosive detection dog.
