Foreign Service Officer, U.S. Department of State
Akhil Bery recently joined the U.S. Foreign Service as an economics coned generalist. Prior to joining the Department, he served as the Director of South Asia Initiatives at the Asia Society Policy Institute, where he focused on the US-India partnership, political and economic developments in Sri Lanka, and the India-China rivalry in South Asia. He has also worked at Eurasia Group where he led the firm’s research on South Asia and advised clients on political and economic developments in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, at McLarty Associates, Fujitsu Research Institute in Tokyo, Japan, and at 9.9 Media in New Delhi India. Akhil holds a M.A. in International Business and Policy from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and Walsh School of Foreign Service, and a B.A. in History from Franklin & Marshall College. He is a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations.
