David Cattler is Director of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the Federal government’s premier provider of integrated security services, including vetting of government and private sector personnel, companies and facilities. He brought substantial intelligence and security experience when he assumed the leadership of DCSA on March 24, 2024.A graduate of the US Naval Academy, he served aboard surface vessels before joining the Office of Naval and Intelligence. His career has taken him from supporting combat operations in the Middle East, to increasingly important roles: Chairman of the National Intelligence Management Council, senior advisor to the Director of National Intelligence, and most recently, Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence and Security for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).A recipient of numerous national and foreign awards, Mr. Cattler is spearheading the transformation of DCSA using new technology, smarter, faster and more effective processes so it will continue to be “go to” resource for protecting America’s technology, personnel and Defense Industrial Base.
