Tarun Chhabra is head of national security policy at Anthropic and a distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution. He previously served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Technology and National Security on the National Security Council (NSC) staff. He has been a senior fellow at Georgetown’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology, director of the Project on International Order and Strategy at the Brookings Institution, director for strategic planning on the NSC, and speechwriter to the Secretary of Defense. He was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, and holds a BA from Stanford, JD from Harvard, and MPhil from Oxford, where he was a Marshall Scholar.
