Elizabeth Economy is Hargrove Senior Fellow and Co-Director of the US, China, and the World Program at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. From 2021-2023, Economy served as the Senior Advisor for China to the Secretary of Commerce. An award-winning author, her most recent book is The World According to China (Polity 2021). She appears on nationally broadcast television and radio shows, including PBS NewsHour, Bloomberg Surveillance, and Fareed Zakaria GPS. She serves on the boards of Swarthmore College and the National Endowment for Democracy and is a member of the Aspen Strategy Group and Council on Foreign Relations.
