Ellen Goodwin

Project Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships

Ellen joins the Aspen Strategy Group with a Master’s in International Relations from University College Dublin, where she focused on gender, peace, and security. Her graduate thesis, “The impact of gender inequalities on women in the labour market in rich democracies,” reflected her deep interest in the intersection of economic, political, and gender agendas and their influence on government policy. During her time at UCD, she also served as a Research Assistant for the Constitutional Futures after Brexit project.

She also holds a BA in Arts with Human Rights from University College Galway. Ellen brings experience in research, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination, with a strong dedication to expanding leadership and education opportunities for women and girls. At the Women’s Foreign Policy Group in D.C., she developed the concept for and helped organize When Women Lead: A Conversation with President Mary Robinson, co-hosted with the Irish Embassy, and supported the execution of the Annual Benefit Luncheon. She has also completed an internship in the UK with Bristol Women’s Voice on local gender equity initiatives.

Originally from Ireland, Ellen is excited to lay a strong foundation for her career in international affairs and brings strong administrative, communications, and organizational skills to her role.
