Ambassador (ret) Eric S. Edelman was the U.S. Ambassador to Finland and to Turkey and was the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy (2005-2009). He is currently Counselor at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments and serves as the Vice Chair of the Congressionally mandated Commission on the National Defense Strategy.
