Thordis Gylfadottir is the Special Envoy of the Council of Europe Secretary General on the situation of children of Ukraine since February 2025. She is a lawyer, taught Constitutional and Administrative Law at Reykjavik University from 2013 to 2015 and has been a member of parliament since 2016. Thordis was the Vice Chairman of the Independence Party from 2018-2025.She was a Minister in Iceland for eight years from 2017 to 2024. Most recently, she served as Minister for Foreign Affairs until 2024, Before this, she was Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs (2023–2024), Minister for Foreign Affairs (2021–2023), Minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation (2017–2021) and Minister of Justice (2019).
