Ambassador Michael Herzog served as Israel’s Ambassador in the United States between November 2021 and January 2025. He is a retired Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Brigadier General and served as the IDF’s head of Strategic Planning and as senior military aide and chief of staff to four Israeli ministers of defense. Since the early 1990’s, he has participated in nearly all of Israel’s peace negotiations with the Palestinians, the Syrians and the Jordanians.
