Meghan L. O’Sullivan

Meghan L. O’Sullivan is an educator, writer, former policymaker and diplomat, and advisor to companies. As a professor and the director of Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, she leads an institution of 300 faculty, fellows, and staff working on issues from great power conflict to artificial intelligence and energy. Meghan and her colleagues are dedicated both to producing research and ideas that tackle tough interdisciplinary real-world problems and to training the next generation of global leaders. She is also the Chair of the Trilateral Commission, a global foreign policy organization. Meghan’s own expertise relates to U.S. foreign policy, the energy transition, and geopolitics. She has served in senior policymaking roles – including as Deputy National Security Advisor for Iraq and Afghanistan for President George W. Bush and as Vice Chair of the All Party peace talks in Northern Ireland – and lived abroad in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. She brings her decades of experience in government, academia, and as a director on public company (Raytheon and United Technologies) and non-profit (Council on Foreign Relations, RAND, and the International Crisis Group) boards to help policymakers, business people, and the general public better understand the impact of geopolitics on their work and lives.
