Peter Spiegel has been Managing Editor of the Washington Post since February 2025. He oversees several news departments, including National, Politics & Government, International, and Futures, which covers business, technology, science, and climate issues. Peter joined the Post from the Financial Times, where he held several leadership positions including U.S. Managing Editor, News Editor and Brussels Bureau Chief. As a correspondent, he won awards for his coverage of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and for his reporting on the Eurozone debt crisis. In addition to his time as a foreign correspondent, he has been a reporter in the Washington bureaus of the FT, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal.
