Foreign Service Officer, U.S. Department of State
Yanique Campbell is a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, serving on the Space Infrastructure Team in the Bureau of Emerging Threats. She previously led technology and digital policy at U.S. Embassy Nairobi, helping Kenya become the first African country to secure CHIPS Act funding for semiconductor manufacturing, work recognized with a Superior Honor Award. Her earlier assignments include human rights and migration reporting in Mexico, for which she received a Meritorious Honor Award; and consular protecting American citizens and opening markets to U.S. investment. Before joining the Service, Yanique was a Foreign Policy Fellow in the U.S. Senate, a Fulbright grantee in Spain, and served with the World Food Programme’s Latin America and Caribbean Regional Bureau in Panama. She holds an MA in Global Development from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and a BA in International Affairs from American University. Yanique speaks Spanish, is studying Portuguese and Swahili, and salsa dances her way through every city she visits.
Yanique Campbell joined the Rising Leaders Program Class of 2022 as a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City.
