Founder, The Dignity First Project
Leanne Erdberg Steadman is the founder of The Dignity First Project and Senior Fellow with the Alliance for Peacebuilding. Previously, Leanne has worked across global conflict, governance, and peace in senior roles at the White House National Security Council, State Department, the U.S. Institute of Peace, the Open Society Foundations, and elsewhere. Additionally, her strategy consulting work has included her own firm LPE Services as well as for Accenture Federal Services. She has extensive experience developing strategy, organizing research, and creating initiatives that are innovative, rigorous, and norm-shifting. Before her work in foreign and public policy, Steadman co-founded an independent record label. She holds a Juris Doctor with honors in international law and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in mass communication studies, both from Boston University. She currently lives with her husband, daughter, and dog in Arlington, Virginia.
