Ian Harman recently graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in International Relations with a specific interest in U.S.-China relations and the non-military elements of great power competition. While at William & Mary, Ian was a senior research assistant with AidData, where he used the open source to track underreported official Chinese financial flows to all countries. He was also a research assistant for the Teaching, Research, and International Policy (TRIP) Project and a teaching assistant for the Global Scholars Program. Prior to joining the Aspen Strategy Group, Ian was an intern at U.S. Southern Command, supporting embassy and joint post operations. He is originally from Lincolnshire, Illinois.
