Jack Jacobs holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Rutgers. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division, in the 7th Infantry Division, and commanded an infantry battalion in Panama. He taught at both West Point and the National War College. After retiring from the Army, he was a Managing Director of Bankers Trust. An on-air analyst for NBC News, he was a member of the team that produced the award-winning segment “Iraq: The Long Way Out.” Colonel Jacobs’s memoir, “If Not Now, When?,” received the Colby Award. His second work of non-fiction is “Basic.” Jacobs earned three Bronze Stars, two Silver Stars and the Medal of Honor.
