Joe Dinkel is a son of a Navy Doctor, was born in Cambridge, UK, and grew up overseas. He serves as an Active-Duty Navy Special Warfare Officer. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science in English with a minor in Chinese from the United States Naval Academy. Following his time in Annapolis, Joe received a Schwarzman Scholarship and studied at Tsinghua University in Beijing, where he earned a Master of Global Affairs. While in school, Joe traveled all over China and the Indo-Pacific region as he researched a security outlook and defense strategy for the One-Belt-One Road’s maritime route. After that, Joe reported for BUD/S Training in Coronado. Upon completion, Joe received orders to SEAL Team FIVE and served overseas in the Middle East and Pacific. Today, Joe works at the Pentagon as the speechwriter for the Chief of Naval Operations—the U.S. Navy’s Joint Chief and highest ranking admiral.
