General Eirik Kristoffersen is the Chief of Defence of Norway since 17th of August 2020. As Chief of Defence, General Kristoffersen holds full command over the Norwegian Armed Forces and is the principal military advisor to the Norwegian Government. Prior positions include Chief of the Norwegian Army and Chief of the Norwegian Home Guard. Kristoffersen spent more than fifteen years in the Norwegian Special Forces, ranging from patrol member to operations officer, and finally as Deputy Commander of the Norwegian Special Operations Command. General Kristoffersen’s career furthermore includes service in the United Nations Interim Forces Lebanon (UNIFIL) as well as several tours in Afghanistan.
