Dr. Rebecca Peters is on the civil servant leadership team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where she advances U.S. national security priorities through scientific innovation. She also lectures at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, with her teaching focused on water security challenges. A Marshall Scholar with a doctorate from Oxford, Rebecca brings a decade of experience to these roles, including serving as Senior International Water Policy Advisor at the U.S. State Department. Her prior appointments include the Aspen Tech Policy Fellowship and Chatham House Academy Fellowship. Specializing in technology and innovation strategy, she has coordinated partnerships across 25+ countries, developing frameworks that leverage science for national security priorities. Her work has been published in outlets including Foreign Affairs, Scientific American, and The World Today. In July 2024, she completed the first source-to-source rowing expedition of the Zambezi River with a crew of 30 from nine countries.
