Nick Schifrin is the foreign affairs and defense correspondent for PBS News Hour, and the moderator of the weekly foreign affairs show “Compass Points” from PBS News. He leads News Hour’s daily foreign coverage, including multiple trips to Israel since October 7, and to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion. Prior to PBS, Schifrin was Al Jazeera America’s Middle East correspondent, and ABC News’ correspondent in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Schifrin is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a board member of the Overseas Press Club Foundation.
