William Swenson is a Medal of Honor recipient, combat veteran, diplomat, and venture advisor with over 20 years of service to the United States. As an Army officer from 2002 to 2023, he deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan, earning the Medal of Honor, three Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart. He also served in an interagency capacity bridging Department of Defense and State Department priorities around governance and security cooperation. Since leaving active duty, Swenson has advised venture-backed national security initiatives and serves as Managing Director at AE Shoals. He holds degrees from Seattle University and the Naval Postgraduate School.
