July 2026
The Aspen Strategy Group (ASG) convened for its annual Summer Workshop in July 2026 in Aspen, Colorado. The meeting brought together over fifty ASG members and invited experts from the fields of government, academia, journalism, and business to discuss strategic challenges and opportunities in the Western Hemisphere.
Our discussions this summer focused on our own neighborhood, which is too often overlooked in the great power geopolitical narrative. This year’s meeting aimed to envision a clear strategy for our home region, especially as events across the Americas directly shape U.S. security and prosperity. The sessions spanned trade, supply chains, and the potential for a shared regional energy base, as well as migration, transnational crime, and illicit drugs, among other topics. We were also delighted to include perspectives from neighboring countries Canada, Cuba, Mexico, as well as Argentina and Venezuela.
The Aspen Strategy Group will publish a collection of policy pieces on Wednesday, October 14 that will include original papers published by the ASG and pieces published in major media outlets by our members and invited experts that capture the ideas emanating from the meeting. The collection will be available on our website.
